About Ms. Eaton

As the daughter of an Air Force member, I have lived in many different places, including Panama City, Panama, where I began my studies in Spanish.  I lived in Bellevue, Nebraska for 6 years where I graduated from high school and also became a HUGE Nebraska football fan. I graduated from the University of Louisville with my bachelor’s in Spanish and am currently attending UofL again to obtain my Masters of Teaching. This is my second year teaching at South Oldham High School and I am looking forward to a wonderful year and am excited about having all of you in class!

Course Description
This class is an introduction to Spanish where we will begin to communicate orally and in writing in Spanish. We will focus on using the present and past tense as well as a variety of vocabulary. This vocabulary will include the following topics: everyday conversation, weather, numbers, days, months, colors, body parts, the classroom, food and beverages, the family, the house, clothing and shopping, and vacations. In order to achieve this, we will do presentations, skits, group and pair work, games, and other activities.

Core Content Sequence
This is the first class in the Spanish program at SOHS and should be closely followed with the Spanish II class to meet the pre-college requirements. However, if students continue through with the Spanish program, they may be able to test out of required college classes.

Materials and Supplies
You will need to purchase the following materials and bring them to class:
